| I am a trucker with 3 years of OTR driving experience. About 1 1/2 months ago I moved out of state to Missouri. I started looking for work again and am having problems that are from my past. The laws have obviously changed so I think my driving days may be over. I have 4 dui's on my record all are over 5 years old and a felony charged that was reduced to a misdeamnor. I made some bad choices when I was younger but I'm a grown man with a family now and don't even drink any more but no one will even consider giving me a chance. I have a perfect driving record with awards to prove it but it's not helping. Is there any advice as to what I can do or who may be hiring someone in my situation? It just sucks that you do stupid things as a kid and they come back to haunt you. All I know is trucking and actually love doing it. Like I said I just moved back to Missouri and really need to find work can anyone give me some advice as to how I can get back in a truck or who might consider hiring me. |

| IMHO No truck driving for you Your record speaks for itself, you are a repeat offender. Btw, 1 (ONE) DUI, must be at least 10 years old. Trucking companies have an abundance of applicants, that have never had a DUI. Try with your local construction, heavy equipment companies. Best!

| Yep, go find another job that doesn't involve driving a truck. Sometimes me make mistakes in life that have permanent consequences, we must learn to live with those consequences. Personally I don't care how much you have changed, I don't want ANYBODY like you in a semi truck.

| drinking too much and driving a car is intentional, it's not a mistake. not sure why they let "kids" drink anyway - in NC, one has to be 21 to consume an alcoholic beverage. no company, O/O or anybody else with a truck is going to hire you - insurance wouldn't touch you with a 10 feet pole with that many drunk driving convictions. maybe someone can post something to candy coat your situation, but that won't help you any. |

| My brother had the same DUI history like yours. His attorney helped him out. You might want to talk to attorney before you change your career. But it doesn't hurt to get a second career. |

| Dui's I unlike some of these people know that a person can change. My husband had 3 dui's 20 years ago when he was young and stupid. 17 years ago he stopped drinking. He is a great driver, dad, husband, worker, etc. I know the people that made mean remarks to you will have to face judgement on the things they've done in their own past one day. Praying you find a job. |
