Has anyone ever used crest capital to finance a truck or trailer before or does anyone know if they are a trustworthy finance company

I just got approved through Lone Mountain and this is the finance company they are using. I don't have much experience with them yet, but hopefully this helps.

I just bought my pro star through lone mountain trucking. My advice: Don't get a truck through them unless you have credit issues that is preventing you from getting a truck any where esle. Mostly all of their trucks are fleet trucks with no maintaince records from the fleet these trucks came from. You'll get an engine protection warrenty that protects just the engine. Other wise it's an As is warrenty. You can get the truck checked out before you buy it, and they'll fix the problems. If the truck still has company computer specs on it ( e.g. Governed at 62mph) you'll have to take it to the dealership yourself and pay for it to be removed. Now if the truck have problems as soon as you take it off the lot, they'll fix it but you have to bring the truck to one of their locations, Tifon GA, Iowa, and Las Vega NV. If it looks like the problem was pre existing they'll do a repair for free but it got to be at one of their locations. Now Cresto Capital will work with you. The truck I got from them a 2010 ProStar has been having issues with the EGR cooler. They been working with me but I'm losing money with all these issues. I've already tapped into half of my emergency fund in dealing with these repairs in down time and such. Luckily for me I'm single with no kids, and have basic bills at home with no other debt except the truck. If you deal with lone mountain aka Cresto capital, save up at least 10,000 for emergencies as well as the $4,000-$6,000 down payment they want for the truck.

When I was talking with LM ... if there was an issue it wouldn't be fixed taking to one of their locations ... it had to be the location you got the truck at.

The major reason I simply got a truck through my company ... 30 day, no questions asked, bumper to bumper warranty, work to be done wherever I chose.

Wow that's strange they would tell you that, but I'm glad you got something better, NOBODY not even my own bank, would finance me because of a civil judgment on my credit report from serveral years ago even though my credit was 700 at the time. Like I said stay away from lone mountain unless you got some serious credit issues or have a lot of money saved up for the major repairs you'll run into. They'll work with you but it's not worth the headache.

I think your wrong and did not do your homework on the truck you purchased. The problem is not Lone Mountain, the problem is the 2010 Prostar you purchased. Those trucks have been and still are a problem for International with multiple lawsuits in action. Several threads here on TTR with discussion of the issues. :biggrin_2558:

BTW, as a O/O, you should have $20k in reserve for a maintenance account with any CMV.

Roockie after I read about the problem with the EGR Cooler seems to me that reddove bought a Cummins one, so that has nothing to do with the lawsuits. If its a Maxforce engine I agree. I think reddove has got good points on his feedback about Crest n Lone Mountain Truck!

I'm not perfect, but I did do my homework on the the international truck and every driver I talked to said don't get a ProStar with a Maxforce engine. I do in fact have a Cummings engine. I was trying to get a Pre EGR truck but that angle didn't work out. It's too late to do anything about it now. The good thing about lone mountain is that they put my payments on hold until I can get the truck fixed. I'm taking it back to them at their Los Vegas site this week.

I'll advise people to stay away from lone mountain trucking AKA Cresto captial unless you're going to get one of their new trucks. They sold me a lemon. when I told them I was going to turn the truck back in (due to the excessive repairs) to their Iowa location. They told they was going to call me back and then the next day there was a tow truck ready to take the truck. I explained to the tow truck driver what happened and that I made all my payments. I had a load of casino machines and I wasn't going to leave right there. The tow truck guy was nice enough to let me leave to deliver my load (this was in Las Vegas). Then I received threatening texts that the police will be called. After I delivered my load and dropped the trailer, I turned the truck in at their Las Vegas location. I was told over the phone that I couldn't take my stuff out the truck and that I would have to leave or the police will be called. The staff at the Las Vegas location was nice enough to let me get my stuff out anyway. I had to hussle to find a van cab, a rental car, and a hotel at the last moment. It took 4 hours for a cab to arrive because this was a Friday night and every cab was busy. I was treated like a deadbeat who didn't make their payments. Wow. All they had to do was tell me to turn the truck in at their Las Vegas location instead of sending the tow truck like that. I filed a complaint with the BBB. And I will get a lawyer. I'm going to get another truck but later in the spring.
