The staff on the site looked at this post, and approved it back after discussing it.

I have seen countless posts on this forum alone about the 2007-2010 motors, and many of them were in the shop more than on the road supporting families. If this suit makes Cummins go after the government for their part in shoving this down our throats before the technology was ready, then so be it. If it is a hoax post, then someone will let us know. Lord knows there's enough people on this forum that have had issues with those motors, surely someone will figure it out.

I truly believe that the Cummins ISX is one of the best engineered engines on the market, but it's the aftertreatment system that's killing it. Everyone has their own opinion which I respect. Just like everyone has their favorite brand of motor oil. My 2004 Cummins ISX performed great. Wish I had not opted for a newer truck.

I hear ya! We still have the N14 in a 2001. Scared to get something with more problems. We did an inframe in 2008 and have had no issues with the motor since. But we replaced everything that would soon go bad at that time too. LOL

My problems started at about 350,000 mi. I do 48 + about half of Canada. Finally after 10 months of in-out shop I thought we had it taken care of. Now at 460,000 it's starting all over again.:biggrin_25513:

    buckeynell,

I apologize if I sounded like I was filletin' the skin off of ya, but please understand the track record of 1-time posters on this site, especially akin to the nature of your post, tends to be far from honest the vast majority of the time. If you are genuine (which I trust at this point), and altho I have no skin in the game with an EPA ISX, I wish you the best.
The problems with the after treatment system(s) on the ISX has been suffered by far too many good ppl just trying to make an honest living. The ones affected do deserve better.

I ran an ISX for 2.5 years in a company owned truck and I never lost a nickel because of down time.

I do believe it's responsible for my toe nail fungus.
