I started this thread so as not to confuse the issues with some of the other threads.
I do feel a strike is coming quickly and well what if it does happen what do we demand from it??
I would suggest that everyone with ideas let us know here and lets hear the comments for and against and then condense them down to the best 10 or 12 ideas . as I started this thread I will take the opportunity list a few of my thoughts,

NUMBER one; NO MEXICAN TRUCKS PERIOD!!!!!

#2 All freight offered to any O/o MUST show the true gross that the customer is paying!!!

#3 All drivers are to be paid for all miles driven and ALL other work waiting, unloading , deadheading ect!!!

4# ALL rules and regulations must take into account the realities of life on the road IE; realistic HOS, reasonable fines, appealable DOT inspections, oh and lets not forget the Nazi state CA. must revert back to the idling laws from last year!!

ok people these are a few of my ideas on what to go for if/WHEN a strike finally happens so lets hear yours and don't wait too long i have a feeling we don't have long to get this list together

    Jammer,
I dont really belive for a second that if we are in a STRIKE in the US that NAFTA will be trading with Mexico during the strike. It would be Far to scary for those drivers to enter the states without weapons. lol

In fact I can almost bet the CALI truckers would do like the CANADA drivers and just BLOCK the dam ROAD!

I really see this coming. It's gone WAY to far!

    And im with you Jammer:
    NO MEXICAN TRUCKS!

What about lower fuel prices or least a bigger fuel discount. How about better equipment that doesn't break down...I'll post more demands here as I think of them.

Freight rate is the real issue here, I don't care if the price of fuel is $100 a gallon if I'm getting $90 a mile. I can still afford to haul freight at that rate.

I know its a wild price but I think ya'll get the point I'm trying to make.

Fuel price but also Transparency in broker rates. Ultimately there is more to be gaied by us knowing up front what the customer is paying for the service. Nobody in there right mind will knowingly pull a load if they know it's been through three different brokers and each one is taking a cut and they end up with 50%. and don't think it doesn't happen.
I really don't think we could get fuel prices lowered and I'm not for the government caping the price. However people need to know and compnies need to know that we can't do it before something changes. I don't know how t change it but it needs to be changed for sure.
Shippers are begining to no longer pay increasing fsc so what do you think is about to happen?

We need to stick to the basics of freight prices being raised and getting the brokers straightened out, Not trying to change a bunch of laws. We can deal with the spilt speed limits and such once we get this straightened out.
