We're number 10 in most fatal jobs from this source(picked first link, not giving it any credibility although the bold is something I think most of us agree with):

    http://listverse.com/2008/08/26/top-10-most-fatal-occupations/

Death Ratio: 27 out of 100,000
Making up 12% of the total deaths a year, with 905 on average(almost 3 a day die), it also makes up the bottom of our list due to the huge amount of workers it employs. Truckers are highly trained before they can be put out on the road, and for good reason. Passenger vehicles get confused and scared around large trucks, leading to reckless driving that forces the truck driver to use evasive skills that can end up causing them to crash. 70% of trucking related fatalities occur because of this. Another problem with trucking is unsafe rest stops. They are often far away from any authority, leaving the trucker open to muggings.

Message from the bold, or at least mine, if it's someone else's fault, I'm not running off the road to avoid them and possibly hurt myself, it will definitely suck to be them...If it's my fault, I have to fall on the sword and do whatever, but no way will I be wrapped around a tree and the reason is heading down the road oblivious...May sound cold, but I have a family that depends on me, if it's not my fault, I'm not taking one for the team, I'm running you over...I'll be inconsolable for a bit, but I WILL go home to my family if I didn't make the mistake...

Everybody just needs to slow down and space out. The way people act on the road scares me when I think of the future. I f we have really hard times economically. There is no community or sense of being one people working together. This selfish, narcissistic, consumeristic culture is killing us. It shows most when individuals think nobody is watching them; like on the highway.

Air Conditioning, it's the devil! Before AC neighbors and communities were much tighter, heck they slept in Central Park together on hot nights or on the fire escapes and the same all over the country...Once AC came along, we stopped intermingling as much...Just my thoughts from reading history...

is the four wheeler gonna be charged with anything?or it doesnt matter when the truck driver dies?if the passenger car driver died, everybody will be on top of this story:did the trucker drive tired?did his equipment fail?was he out of hours?.double standards.

    rockyroad74 Thanks this.
