I pray that New/Old/Wannabe truckers Look to God during these tragedies and ask God to keep us safe from situations like this and mostly that the families stunned by the loss of their beloved ones can bare through out. It's hard to ask for much I'm not a preacher but this is a tough thread for me to guide help because I am no god but I do have sympathy. I am lost right now with words and the only thing left I could say is to all is SAFTEY IS FIRST! And as a wannabe trucker I must learn as much possible on that. Be safe out there everyone!

That's a bad one. Prayers for all involved.

Its amazing how much damage a 4 wheeler can do when hitting an 18 wheeler head on. I remember such a wreck one of our hands had many years ago a four wheeler was passing in a no passing zone hitting him head on it took the complete front axle along with both front wheels off the conventional KW along with both fuel tanks, everyone in the car was killed. This was on Hwy 46 north of Bakersfield that crosses from 99 to 101.

The impact's greater than straight into a solid object like concrete barrier. Basically 80K 'object' with 62 mph momentum interrupted by 4K object (80K is 20x 4K) coming from opposite direction at ANY speed spells doom for folks in the 4K object.

Appears the truck driver is not at fault and from the picture with truck still straight along the fog line, the driver did a good job of staying in his own lane. A good thing in a horrible situation, completely out of the truck driver's control--but he did what he had to in order to not make it worse.

Look at the angle and direction of the steer tire (hard right). Had truck driver and this wreck not brought rig to a complete halt, would have continued off roadway and who knows what further damages and possible further victims.

Professional truck driver deserves some credit here...

There is nothing a driver can do when a car all the sudden crosses in to oncoming traffic and comes in to his path head on.
Even though the Truck driver was not at fault, i'm sure this accident will give him nightmares for a long time. Prayers to the driver and to the families of the 2 women and the kid.

WOW what a mess. I guess that truck on the field is the other truck they said was able to avoid crashing to another car by swerving off the highway.
