this is a pretty universal concensus

so many people on this site hate me, so much traffic stopped on this site when I became a frequent visitor, so many people have left the industry since I got into it.

Who cares who likes or dislikes you... when you look in the mirror every morning as long you like what you see is all that counts...

I don't know if one, both, or neither were rookies or 20 yr veterans. But what I do know is this should remind us all that we have no guarantees beyond the last breath we took. My heart is heavy for the families.

RIP to the drivers. Condolences to their families and friends.

I think you are giving yourself too much credit there Jabber. The world nor the forum revolve around you, and this thread is likely not the place to have a deep discussion about it.

Correction - my error: One truck was on fire...one driver is dead. No news yet on the driver that survived. I pasted the link below.

    http://www.kwch.com/news/local-news/semi-fire-closes-westbound-lanes-of-i70-at-colby-exit/30782832

If the driver that died was the one whose truck was on fire, then I pray that he died prior to the fire. I can't think of a worse thing.

When I see all of the accidents involving trucks due to snow, fog, and black ice, it is a serious reminder your lives are worth more than any load you may be carrying. I am not accusing anyone--rookie, veteran, or somewhere in between--but mountains and bad roads warrant some super careful driving or a decision to pull over. I pray that each and every one of you stay safe.

    Keep your wheels turning' safely...

Big Don and TNMT Thank this.

RIP, but from the sounds of it, since one rearended the other, either someone was stopped in the road and the other driver didn't realize it (maybe blinded by the sun, 5:30 would have been about sunset), or the other driver possibly died at the wheel of other causes and then rearended him.
