18-wheeler rollover shuts down portion I-220 exit ramp at I-20
The article said he exited to fast and turned over.
I remember some exits out in Texas if you exited very fast in an 18 wheeler you would turn over. I saw a truck that exited way too fast nearly turning over & I learned to careful of the exits on I-30, I-20, & I-10 when in the state of Texas.

They're trying to do away with those short ramps as they rebuild highways here.

That's good, them short exits are very dangerous, especially for those who are not use to them..

Nice going. While I agree there are many ramps that are way too short, I have no sympathy for a driver ( term used loosely) that this happens to. In all my years, I always took exit ramps at a crawl, especially loaded. The biggest shame, is a nice Peterbilt laying on it's side. I wouldn't feel so bad if it was any other truck.

If the speed limit on the exit ramp says 30 then back it down to 20-25. Why is everybody in such a rush? too many times i see the rollovers on the ramps and don't get me started on when it snows.

Higher velocity gives the impression of shorter trip length, AKA "saving time", and regardless of actual elapsed time, it "feels" shorter.
We have a few local streets posted "SIGNALS SET FOR 25 MPH". Motorists -invariably race between the signals anyway, and apparently never notice every time they come to a stop the signal changes to green ~5 seconds later, then it's sort of a contest to see who can launch quickest and attain the highest velocity before slamming on the brakes, again.
Nothing inspires more stupidity than motor vehicles. Love, politics and firearms combined can't hold a candle to it."semi" retired Thanks this. -
