Well, they wouldn't need to be so bright if people would not keep running into them.

 

Not just cop lights. I've been blinded by a lot of tow truck spot lights lately. You swear there was a freight train on the shoulder.

 

You don't reckon maybe that the average age of the typical "freight hauler" is probably 20+ years over the average "non freight-hauler trucker" might have something to do with it? Much more trucking experience as required by union freight haulers, not to mention the added "wisdom" that comes with age.

Let's say for the sake of argument that one week, all drivers became hourly "union drivers" making $75k/yr [to do half the work]. Are you seriously trying to tell me truck safety would improve overnight? Sorry, not buying it. Accident prone drivers are accident prone driver, period. Paying them more money to do less will make them "well-paid" accident prone drivers, being even less productive. Nothing more, nothing less.

 

Maybe people would quit running into them if they weren't blinded.
