And yet another reason not to swerve to avoid an animal!
Brickman Thanks this. -
That is a thought. However, some companies are starting to treat deer collisions as preventable accidents.

I alway told myself I would never swerve for any animals, but that thought changed last week. There was an accident where a car hit a deer and propelled it in the air and it went thru the windshield and out the back window and killed the dad driving the car. His wife steered the car to the side of the road and her and the baby were alright. But I guess I can't say what I would do until it happens. Who knows what my reaction may be if I was startled.

Wow, that would be a baaaaadddd situation. Hubby had a deer jump out of the ditch, hit his drivers door and tore up his stack, wound up in the wheels on the trailer, going round and round for a couple of miles. I'm sure that there were pieces scattered for the couple of miles, and he was grateful that it was in the wee hours of the morning, and there was no one behind them.

Hells bells -- even I, a humble and unlearned four-wheeler, know that swerving an articulated vehicle isn't wise. These folks need to have their heads examined... or their butts parked in a truck for a few years.old-six-pack and Brickman Thank this. -
They need to let us have open season all year on deer. That may help on insurance premiums and sure but meat in the freezer.

I had a boss that told me that all accidents are preventable. He said if you're going throuugh an area with deer, you should slow down. So perhaps if everyone goes down to 25 in a deer zone we'll all be safe and no one will ever get to their destination!
