I do remember reading something of this. Some where in some news article I posted. There was a proposal of having the physical attached to the CDL holder. What ever became of it, I do not know. I will try to find it but don't wait on me to post it. If someone finds the info, please post it in here.

I had to dig deep for this and I was correct. It is a proposal by FMCSA medical review board. I will try to find if they actually passed this into regulation. Here is the article >>
FMCSA wants national registry of medical examiners for CDL checkups
That was back in Aug 08 and I did not copy the whole article. You will have to read it. -
I found it >> http://www.fmcsa.dot.gov/registration-licensing/cdl/cdl.htm
Hope that helps you Big John

isnt this a violation of my hippa law posting my private medical information on the ndr or cdlis for all to see. whats happing to my right of privacy when it comes to my medical information?
-
Good question. -
Geezuz.
It sounds like the 4 wheelers in government making law want the states (since states issue driver licences) to enforce yet another mandate. On the surface it sounded like somewhat of a paperwork reduction act to eliminate carrying the medical card, but after reading this 4 times I believe it will potentialy become yet another qaugmire for everyone involved (except the 4 wheelers in government shoving this)
My Wisconsin CDL licence is good for 8 years. Medical card is good for only 2. Will my state automaticaly send me a licence every 2 years in the mail, or will I as a CDL holder have to show up in prson at the DMV every 2 years and stand behind 100 mexicans, listen to the spanish public speaker announcement, and pay the "walk in service fee"?
Remember the day when a truck driver could safely drive down the road? It's just like today, except without all the red tape and BS .
Thanks rookietrucker for digging this up, I was not aware of this.rookietrucker Thanks this. -
I was and have been dreading dealing with it after the first of the year.
I will be researching the hippa thoughts on it though.
I believe the certificate will be all that is required to send to them and not the long form where the medical information is located.
