Unhappy Can I be on line 4 past my 14th hour?

You can be on line 4 past your 14th hour! I had a word document for you, with a log grid picture but the file is to large (again).

Many drivers do not understand you can be on line 4 past your 14 hour without being in violation!

Therefore I can spend 2 hours doing a post-trip inspection, fueling, loading, scaling (anything if you get the point).

This is why I stress doing a thorough post-trip inspection because you are not stressed in rushing like you are your pre-trip because it is not affecting your 14 hour period!

It is however affecting your 70 hour. Which it would regardless where you log it!

DOT just states you can not “DRIVE” after your 14th hour!

I am suprised weekly in how many drivers are not told this; since it would be important to know any many cases

Yes you can be on line 4 after 14 BUT, you must still have 10 off from the time you finally go off duty before you can drive again.

Guarding Explosives

Under the old 15-hour rule, I received a registered letter from Tri-State Motor Transit for being on duty more than 15 hours. I replied with my own registered letter stating that I could stay on-duty, not driving while guarding a load of explosives ad infinitum. Further, I requested that they remove the letter of reprimand from my personnel file. They did not reply.

Actually, my lead driver was sleeping soundly while I waited for the consignee to open. When the gate opened, I woke him up and he made the delivery. We logged it legal as it happened, and never "worked" on each other's log. At the time, I thought Tri-State probably had a co-op student checking logs.

You was right then and the same still holds! DOT does not care if you are on-duty they don't want you driving past 14 hours; you should per them be sleepy or exhausted! Good job! I hope you didn't make another mistake on the log though. Some drivers don't see where they mess up and think they know where they did. Always ask them where the violation is,then argue your point (HOpe you are right when you argue, we are mean if you are wrong and we are right) LMBO! I am sure you know you are right, but I always suggest just to make sure you both are on the same page. It also helps rookie auditors learn!

Smile risky move

I checked with my new company on fueling past the 14th hour or 11th, they said fine, but what if someone hits you,you run someone over or you have any kind of accident, remember, you can't drive after 11 or 14 th hour,How can you possibly park your truck from the fuel island,I guess next time I will wait till after 10 hr break or do it before the 11th or 14th.

As we discussed on pm, I will explain what I am going to do for the rest of you.

I am going to e-mail this quesiton to DOT on Monday and we will see what they have to say about it to make sure.

I don't see logging line 4 for the time to drive the truck from the island to the parking spot should be any problem what so ever. Now driving down the road is another subject.
I will look over the regulations also when I get back home in about an hour

Any other suggestions on this is welcome

This week was so hectic I did not do it

I will type it up this weekend and e-mail it out Monday.

I want to type something really proper and put a suggestion to add it to the questions and answers sections.
I get the same questions and to be honest the book is very vague about them and I want direct answers to the questions and so do many drivers.

So I want this to be a good proper Question & Answer e-mail.
BEARRRRRR with me, I have allotttt going on at work and to breath is lucky for me !
