Lets cry driver shortage and make it harder for drivers to drive cost them out the butt before we put them in the seat wonder how many will never even take the test just say its to much hassle and expense to get started I will just go back to the welfare line and let others take care of me!!!

I more they put on us and our lack of fighting will ensure there will be a true driver shortage one day

I'll have to take one for the small jaw.

If a driver is healthy and physically fit, with a neck size of LESS than 17", does being age 42 or over still subject them to the sleep apnea test?

God bless every American and their families! God bless the U.S.A.!

    These were proposed.

The BMI BS is done by companies. It is not part of the DOT physical.

Did some research. A mans neck is on average 16-17 1/2 inches around and usually pertains to his height.

I wonder if the Feds are going to get involved with drivers who get up in the middle of the night and interrupt their sleep in order to pee. To me that's just as important as snoring during the night. I can just see it now, instead of having a mask around your face with tubes coming out of it, we will now have to install a clamp on it and tighten it down before bed.

I am unaware of any required guidelines/testing related to this during the DOT physical examination.

doc (3 month card) ordered a home sleep study company paid for it had an AHI of 4 threshold for treatment o my report says 21 or greater when i went to renew my med card three months later company sent me to a different doctor (6 month card) who won't accept that sleep study and wants me to have a full hospital overnight sleep study done. where is the logic in that. 2 months before i started with this company i was given a 2 year card by my primary care phyisition

The go eent have medical examiners certified for DOT Physical to use BMI, Neck measurement of 17" or more and the feeling of not being comfortable with him driving before giving a sleep study first to make sure they don't have sleep apnea. There is no regulation on or requirement of this it's only a opinion given to doctors.
