I forget all the time and get a friendly reminder that says something to the effect of "You need to review & approve your logs"

So... what happens when you run into one of those DOT officers who insists you're supposed to sign your log at the start of your shift? ;)

I just do an approval at the end of a 14 hr cycle or end of my drive day. That is basically once in 24 hrs, but may not be the same time every day. Seems like a good time to remember to do it. I do my post trip on duty few minutes, then go to off duty or sleeper and send in an approval at the same time.

As for the start of shift thing, I don't worry. Only ran into that once with a WI DOT. I just let safety know and never heard another word about it. How it got resolved, I don't know and don't care. Didn't change a single thing I was instructed to do with the e-log. Definitely on the bottom end of the stack of things to worry about.

Tell him hes full of it approving it means its correct for that day you cant say that till you finish the day. Just like on paper you never signed till you was completely done with it.
