HOS violations are biased against drivers

In my opinion I'd be happy and roll on. I couldn't care less about getting a positive inspection. If he's out by the scale just doing a quick look on logs, I ain't about to waste his time with asking for a positive inspection report. I'd get my butt out of there and hit the highway lol.

In almost 3 years of driving I've never had a single inspection or "run in" with DOT. I plan on keeping it that way as long as possible.

 

Some people care only because their company gives them a safety bonus. My company does too, but honestly I can make more $$$ rolling than the safety bonus would give me.

 

The way the system is set up, it is beneficial to get positive feedback to counter any potential negative feedback you have. They create the system, then frequently only employ the side of the system that is detrimental to the driver, without an equal opportunity for the driver to balance his report card. I also prefer no contact with the fuzz, but if they are going to gig me for something bad when they hold me up, I would like them to document the positive when they hold me up and find nothing wrong, as that is how the score is kept per their process.
