I suspect that is what they have on 231 at the Alabama/Florida state line just after you cross into Florida from Alabama (maybe a mile). As you are Approaching the cameras there is a sign telling all trucks to use right lane.

Just pick a different route around the scales. The ones who exit immediately before and re-enter at the next possible ramp have ALWAYS been the easiest to catch, so putting up cameras on these ramps to automate the process really doesn't surprise me. The technology isn't new, and is in use elsewhere as well. Cameras are pretty easy to avoid once you know they are there. Perhaps Rand McNally ought to include these locations in their "permanent weigh stations" directory in the MC atlas and on the maps...

Been using IR cameras to check brakes, X-ray cameras for radiation and hidden vatos and speed sensors for ramp speed along with weigh in motion.

That's why the super coop ramp is so long. They know more about you than you do when you arrive at scale.

Bears are real proud of their toys ....ask them for the 5 cent tour......

Do truckers get tickets at camera monitored stoplights when they turn yellow, and the truck doesn't have enough time to stop or make the yellow light? What can I say, it was raining...

Can't stop laughing at this......runnin around that area brings back some very fond memories.......back when I was a youngin.....and we still grew things home in Fl......way too much fun.....But since the old static state scale is STILL back there.....be lot cheaper&easier to open it up once in awhile jus to keep folks honest......seems more like the states lookin more to #### w/the locals&the few farms left in Volusia&St Johns counties.....

Not only in Fla.. but troopers in many states are now using their laptop to catch speeders. Cameras mounted on poles with speed sensors. They log in and wait for an unweary speeder to pass the camera... might be 2 - 3 miles up the road. Unweary speeder becomes weary when trooper is spotted. Speeder slows down thinking they are safe. Pass the trooper at legal speed.. blue and red come on and speeder is ticketed anyway.

This is how 90% of speed traps will be handled in 5 yrs time.

Get your traffic lawyers on speed dial.. every one will be cashing in on it.
