Yeah, something is missing. I'm on the Xata system and if you run a 70 hour week, you can see what you have used and the boss can tell you what you'll have tomorrow to work with. Theoretically, you never have to stop if you work it right.
4 days out and out of time? huh? Maybe someone needs some time off?
Forced to break 34 hr rule

if he has been out 4 days
he can only drive 11/day
even with pre trip fuel etc
how can he be out of hours
you been driving 6 years?
how hard can this be
I stayed out for 103 days once drove every day of it legally
never did a restartflood Thanks this. -
Lol, i dont think this guy or his "friend" should be driving as neather of them have any idea how the Hours of Service work. Or time management for that matter.
34 hours is a optional reset you can run on ur recaps at anytime. There is NO 34 hour rule as like 10 people have tried to tell you. Learn to run ur recap hours.tucker and SLCTrucker Thank this. -

He will not necessarily be in violation, because it all depends on how many hours he picks up at midnight tonight from 8 days ago.He could have been out of hours yesterday when he parked and pick up hours tonight.Don't know his previous 7 days so it is difficult to say,but like other posters have said it is possible to run on recap hours.

Oh and remember boys and girls, they did away with the 34 reset earlier..
Nobody says you have to do a reset.
Like crazyYankee has tried to tell you. Run off your available hours.....
Or is he just lazy and wants to lay at the house???? -
*snipped*
Cranky Yankee, Knucklehead619 and Meltom Thank this. -
I am a newer driver myself but am well aware of the reset rules. I talk to many new drivers who are convinced they must take a reset when they get close to there 70. I have made it home every weekend but not long enough i haven't had a 34 hour reset in a month
Cranky Yankee Thanks this. -
Regardless of what anybody on this forum says , your "friend" needs to file a complaint with OSHA if they feel they are being forced to violate the law. Nobody on this forum can address the issue appropriately. There is a whistleblower complaint form and your friend is encouraged to pursue his issues through the proper channels. Know your rights.
