The company I work for wants to add 2 more feet to our 53' stepdeck (to the front). We normally run in KY and some in OH, maybe some IN in the future. KY doesn't show a max trailer length so i'm assuming it would fall under the fed law of 53' I think OH and IN are both 53'. your thoughts please
kentucky, ohio, indiana. 55' trailer length ?

thanks Kansas, I actually saw that already. My understanding is 53' max period. We are currently hauling a foot or two off the front, if we extend the trailer we will still be a foot or two off the front. I'm waiting for my ticket, I think we have been lucky in Kentucky so far. Not to mention 14' plus high, and 6" or so wide on the sides. Seems their asking alot from me to pull this.

I don't know about up there but some companies run 57' dry vans in the southwest. If you look in the front of a RandMcNally truckers atlas it has the overall length specs for each state.

I just picked up a 1991 Great Dane FRP 57'x96" wide van in Phoenix and took it to a customer in Houston. Might be the last FRP trailer in captivity. I guess the only reason it hasn't rotted away is it lived in AZ most of it's life. 57's are legal in about 10 states I think. Good thing I have a cabover....

I recall about 10 years ago through an Intermodal SNAFU a 57' Pumpkin wound up at the Indianapolic OC, not sure how they ever got it back to the reservation.
