I have a Texas cdl, a few weeks ago I get a letter in the mail saying my physical was up for renewal on March the 8 was the dead line. I go get mine done, pass with flying colors on the 4 of March & I submitted the paperwork the following day to Austin! I even get an email back on the 5 stating they received all the paperwork! Now I'm out here trucking it up & I get a call from home (my wife) telling me that I got a letter saying my license was downgraded to a class C because I didn't submit the physical on Jan. 30 of this year! Mind you it didn't expire until March 8! That I will need to retake the whole test again! Written & Driving! What the hell am I suppose to do now out here on the road? (Take in mind I am an O/O)

Won't help you now, but might help others. I would have taken the time off and taken the physical form directly to the nearest DPS drivers license center and have them process it right then. They would hand you written proof that it was updated. . If any officer stops you after that you have documentation if there is a problem. Don't leave the DL center until it is done correctly. Contact your state representatives office if you have further problems.

Same story here, several of us got the letters, you need to get down to the DVM at once and clear this up. Told me it was a big screw up in Austin... imagine that a problem with the government!!

I am not kidding you,,, take care of this at once.. get stopped on the road driving a truck and you are in trouble if your licenses has been downgraded.

I'd call DPS ASAP. It too them forever to put mine in the system and I was getting worried. They may have updated your CDL but an automated system sent the letter to the house. I'd call first thing tomorrow to find out though.

It turned out I had to drive from Charleston Missouri to Texarkana Texas to fill out two forms show them my medical card and show them my license. They took my picture my fingerprints and I took a eye exam paid $55 and got my license back, the lady there told me that they had been having a lot of people lately going back to recertify their class a CDL. Took me 15 min. to clear it all up

As far as I'm aware, you can't just take it down to the Austin DPS in person. I've asked that question as I live in Leander. You have to fax it or email/mail it. Dumb I know but thats the way it is in that part of TX. I'm always leery of this kind of thing as the O/O found out. It's BS but that's TX for you. I send it in 3 different times so theres no excuse. Those folks could care less about you and the stays of your CDL>
