I've given a couple of presentations on the subject and sat through a presentation offered by someone who has been monitoring the program closely. IMHO the system has some quirks that need to be ironed out but only time will tell.
One major deficency is the system has no tools to address carriers that have little or no inspection data.
Drivers will eventually be graded on their roadside inspection data and be assigned a score. When a carrier hires the driver they will inherit the driver's score for three years. Threfore, it will be imperative for drivers to be aware of their roadisde inspection history and ensure they do what they can to avoid citations during roadside inspections.
Starting in December carriers will be able to pull up a driver's roadside inspection information from:
http://www.prosecurityzone.com/Cust...ning_contract_for_US_Transport_Department.asp
The service cost carriers $100 a year plus $10 for each pull.
Drivers will only have to pay the $10 pull fee.
Drivers that have a history of roadside inspection problems will soon find that they are no longer employable...
Be safe.

CSA 2010: The labels

Mike, throughout this thread you have been very adamant about hopw great this new system will be. You have went to great lengths to prove your point and your side of it. If this system is so great and us drivers are all just paranoid or whatever you seem to think we are, why did you write this quote in another thread about the subject? Seems to me you know it's bullshizz just like the rest of us. Notice the highlighted parts of your quote.
If it's not about money and really is about safety why should we have to pay to find out if anything is on our record on csa2010? Shouldn't the government want us to know so we can be as safe as possible?
AfterShock Thanks this. -
I (or the company I used to work for) got a fix-it ticket a couple years ago for having an undercharged fire extinguisher. It was a CMV, but it did not require a CDL, as the GVWR was 17,600. I did not hold a CDL at the time. Is this going to show up on my record?

It looks like the time to go back has been changed from 3 years to 2 years. And look at the 6 month thing!
How does CSA 2010 affect you?
As CSA 2010 is implemented in pilot states and is rolled out to all carriers, there is no grace period. How your company is rated in the seven different Behavioral Analysis Safety Improvement Categories (BASICs) will be calculated retroactively using the most recent 24 months of violation and crash history.
Because the scoring is retroactive, you need to begin preparations and make changes now. Your most recent six months of history are weighted the heaviest, so you need to make an impact by starting today. Click to view more. -
CSA 2010: The rub

Why, I can't see this being abused at all.

I mentioned this in another thread.
How can we be forced out of jobs, lose money, our homes, our truck can be taken from us WITHOUT DUE PROCESS???
No trial, judge, or jury and we can lose our ability to earn a living in this industry! Yet the alcoholic with 7,8,14 DUI convictions can continue to drive???
I have come to the conclusion that it actually has NOTHING TO DO WITH MONEY! It has more to do with making people feel good. The politician can point to this new system and tell everyone "See what I did to make YOU safe on the highways! I made those evil truckers pay! Now go vote for me!" Meanwhile they have done nothing about the thousands of people who die in car-car accidents.thecoxster, kingsson, AfterShock and 2 others Thank this. -
Yeah, where's the rating system for cops?
walleye, thecoxster, Joetro and 1 other person Thank this.
