Well I sure as hell tried..........

I have been applying to "caring family run, open door policy, we need you now, no experience needed, please attend orientation after your parole, so what if you killed your wife with a truck while on Meth, our orientation is 24 minutes long and our trucks are 24 years old and ALL the other trucking companies for over 2 months.
Everyday and night........
Craigslist has me down for frequent user miles, I am now on the third keyboard and can recite everything needed to fill an any application without peeking at notes.
The companies have hiring freezes, benefit freezes, recruiters being shuffled off to some never seen parts of the company. They say we will have you for orientation on this date in a few weeks, right before that time you get through to the recruiter of the day to be told that "Oh sorry, we no longer hire from that area, you are longer desirable as an employee, we have changed our requirements, your eyes are the wrong color this week........ your schooling was not enough but if you cough up another $800.00 we will be happy to talk...... Your schooling was excellent and #### we could really use a driver like you.... send us $550.00 for your orientation fees and we will happy to talk.... well yes, we were going to call you but well "Doris brought in homemade cookies" and we have been busy taking care of them and letting your life, hopes and dreams go down the crapper. Please call again in few months.
With all this being said and knowing that I have over 40 years experience driving everything from straight trucks to tow trucks to delivery trucks...... most days exceeding 12 hour shifts and have never had an accident............I now learn that makes me unemployable in the trucking industry,
Almost forgot the fact that I have a clean criminal history and my last ticket was failure to signal a lane change over 9 years ago. What a worthless human being I am.........

Yep......... called recruiter BEFORE going to orientation told her that the wife had a surgery scheduled for the 25th of Feb.
She said it was cleared, everything was fine, no problem, clear sailing...... 2nd day of orientation I am informed that after the third day it is out on the road for a straight 6 weeks or more with NO time off.
Since the operation is to allow the wife the ability to walk again without pain for the first time in nine years I opted out. AFTER being told that I could come back after the surgery for the next orientation........the one that is now cancelled until further notice.
The instructor during orientation was very cool and informative...... he informed everyone ( all 3 of us) in orientation that KLLM had been very busy....... slowing the trucks once again, taking away this perk and that benefit, cutting miles..... May be a good thing that someone in the chain of confusion told me the wrong thing.
