USA Who Has Shortest term training

Old guy comming out of retirement. Drove for 22 years but have been 'out of the seat' for 12 years. Still have CDL with doubles and tanker. What trucking company has the shortest duration school and training? Obviously would like to ease the pain of being 'retrained'. Thanks.

Watkins Sheppard throws students in the seat straight out of school without a trainer.

With your prior experience, most companies won't keep you long with a trainer. Probably 2-3 weeks. I doubt they keep you the full duration unless the trainer see's you as $$$.

Watkins also has a terminal in Dalton, GA, not sure how far you are from them...With your experience I think it's 2-3 days of orientation, mainly company policy and procedures and a road test and away you go!...

    Talking Hummmmm

Condocruiser and Walstib. Thanks for your replies. Your information is great. This just may be the way to go. I live in Canton. Dalton is about an hour away. Another plus is that W.S. is a weekly visitor to Katlaw driving school in Smyrna. They are about 45 minutes away. Katlaw offers refresher course for 1200 clams. This is looking like it may actually be doable!

I was leased to the FB division at W-S and they were great to work for. No complaints except shortage of loads out of LA but that's LA. Well treated, any complaint was settled fairly and ran 3500 or more a month. They give OOs credit for well done jobs, and gave you goo loads if you delivered ontme. Would go back to them anytime.

With as long as he's been out, he's going to need to take a refresher course before he goes back to OTR. The refresher probably won't be anything more than a little classroom time and a road test, but he's gonna need it.
