I am looking for the best Company paid CDL Training. I would prefer private but my credit is shot due to wife lost her job and she was the bread winner. I've always wanted to be a truck driver and should have pulled the trigger in 04' when I did have the money. Companies that I've looked I to are Stevens, Prime, Millis, Knight, FFE, and Central. I live in South Texas near Houston. Any suggestions?

Crete/Shaffer. Of your list I would say Millis.
Marky84 Thanks this. -
There really isn't no better paying training then the next company. All those companies you've looked at,do you see any difference from one compared to the other? Some like a company then some hate the same company. So you're going to get mixed reviews on every company you have your mind set on.The pay is the same no matter where ya go,low pay and anywhere to $300.00 to $500.00 a week.

Go with the company that best suits your needs.
I worked for Roehl, so of course I would say them...
Millis or Crete. -
Yeah, Like ladr says, you really have to look into your needs and whether the company satisfies that need. I drove for Prime so I would say Prime, but I have I am sure the others are just as good. Take a look at length of training, pay during training, where you want to run, pay after training, length of time till your obligation is meet, etc. Good luck and have fun.

Thank you everyone. Here are some of my needs. Decent mileage. I know I won't be making trump money as a new driver but one that I can get around 30-40K first year as I'm bringing in 24k now. Home time. I am fine being out 4-6 weeks at a time, but want to have home time and might need to drive myself there as we only have one vehicle and wife is starting her new career so she won't be able to pick me up. Good training pay. Ill keep searching and thanks again. My wife is behind me on this new career. Does the AI report mean anything?
Chinatown Thanks this. -
Call Conway ask for the training department I know once you get on truck its .26 a mile while you are with a instructor on all miles driven

FFE has good training & also has an oilfield tanker division. If that interests you, you could maybe transfer to the tanker division someday. Also, after your obligation is over with the company you choose, then you can leave and hire on with SVTN in the Houston area & start making over $60K per year with full benefits package. The good money is tanker/hazmat, so work on those endorsements and TWIC.
