I'm contemplating going the private school route to gather my CDL A. That way I can just go straight to the
companies I want to drive for and sign on.

Has anyone heard of a consistently well talked about school in the Nashville area?

I have heard of 3 in the Murfreesboro area, but have not gathered any names yet.

    The process starts today.

The race seems to be between United Truck Driving School and TDI (Truck Driving Institute) ...

    Any opinions either way?

Do yourself a favor and go to the local community college. I believe its a P.t.d.i course approved and cheap!

It depends on what you want/need as far as the private school vs the community college. Most trucking companies offer tuition reimbursement. The private schools are quick and intense and get you into the job market quick. All the truck lines hire right out of TDI and United, so they are legit and well run. I have some first hand knowledge of these two in Murfreesboro because my brother is currently attending one of them. The biggest difference is that United is cheaper.

Thanks for the help! ... I have decided to go with TDI ... I don't think you can go wrong either way.
