I would be a first time driver and previously almost went with CR England. Have you heard of Roadmasters truck driving school? Do you know if its a good company? I spoke to someone out of Florida today and they would be sending me to Fontana, CA.
Thanks
Kevin Barcus-Prior
Have any of you dealt with Roadmasters Truck Driving School?

Make sure that if you are using their financing that it is locked in and the price is set. They like to do bait and switch. They get you in class and THEN change the terms on you.
Their training is fine just dont let them lock you in to a contract with Werner either. -
I don't want Warner. My Uncle had problems with them. I won't go there if they send me to Warner.
-
Well that branch is on Werner property....thats where they are going to try to push you.
-
What should I say to then then. Just I don't want to drive for Warner?
-
Yes. That's what you should do. The Roadmaster here in Ohio pushes Werner. The trucks school uses are old Werner equipment. If you are paying for the school, YOU decide who you work for.
-
I've heard bad things about them. I'm waiting to hear back from them. First thing she said to me is your lucky CR England sent you home. I'll be sent to the Fontana one.
Chinatown Thanks this. -
JBS Carriers sends drivers to Roadmasters, then you drive for them.
Schneider pays for private CDL school, then you drive for them. Schneider Bulk (tanker division) would be an excellent option.
Southern Refrigerated Transport sends drivers to community college CDL school in Texarkana and provides hotel room.
Couple of dozen options out there. Just tell the Werner deal "NO" and keep looking, if you don't really want to drive for Werner. -
i went to roadmaster in fontana. it was 10 miles from my house. a few cool instructors there.
i paid for my school so no loan contract with interest. yes they push werner but you dont have to even apply for them. i simply said im putting out my own applications and they just left me alone after that. but i had no problems. if you fail the cdl driving test they dont charge extra if you need more practice for another week. some fail and try again some pass 1st try no big deal they do help you though.
cant say much bad about them because i am where i am today because of what i learned there -
I'm a nobody on here but I am slowly doing my research for a possible career change. I would also select Roadmasters in Fontana if/when I decide to make the move.
