I Recently attended and graduated from this school.

I highly recommend this school.. The instructors are knowledgeable and work well with the students to get you the skills and training you need to not only obtain your CDL, but to feel comfortable and safe driving.

A big plus for this school is the on-site testing for your pre-trip, backing, and road skills.. your only trips to the DMV will be for your permit, and to pick up your CDL. The testing is done at a pace that is comfortable to you. In my case I was comfortable taking both the backing and pretrip, and then followed that up 2 weeks later with my road test. The whole course took me 4 weeks.. although it is quite possible to do it in 3.

Some other extras that I appreciated were.. actually unhooking and hooking up trailers, installing chains, and if you want some doubles experience they will hook up a double for you. While I attended (4 weeks) we were visited by 3 recruiters, as well as a former student who came by to show off his new ride. They were also kind enough to fax off a few applications for me, resulting in 2 pre-hires.

As they tell you on the first day.. Show up everyday and we'll do the rest.. It's true, show up, listen and you will learn a lot, acheive your goals, and probably surprise yourself.

Who do you drive for? I've looked into this school even went to the grounds and talked with Heather. Looks like a good school but i'm a little scared due to the school not being accredidated.

Well I know there are some national organizations for truck driving schools.. and some companies do only hire from these. However, there are many many who will also hire from schools that are not part of these organizations.

Nevada Truck Driving School trainers are all licensed by DMV/DOT to be instructors.. and the State of Nevada recognizes them as a school, and pays tuition for students attending.. and trucking companies that reimburse for tuition, also recognize them, and will reimburse you if you pay yourself.

I had a few choices for companies (Werner, US Xpress, Covenant, Gordon, Swift) that hired out of Reno. I got prehired for three of those, the other two I didn't apply to.. I also had companies that would hire me if I moved to their hiring area.. (KLLM, May, FFE and others I forget)

There is nothing to worry about as far as companies accepting the school. You do have to do some research with companies that you apply to though. Some companies have an hours requirement (I think most are like 150 hours) and it is very easy to do the course and get your CDL in less time than that.. so you may find yourself hanging around just to get more hours. The school is on the up and up so don't expect them to say you had more hours than you do.. If you need the hours you'll have to put them in. You have a log you fill in every day. When your done, they will have a file that they can refer to when companies call them about your training.

    Good luck to you !

    Hello

Yes I have been looking into this school. I just need a refresher course. I have my cdl A Hazmat, tanker for some time. You can't find a better price for a refresher course. 40 hours 600 dollars.
    -100
Most places want 70 -100 dollars a hour . I've talked to them twice and I'm getting ready to go with them. Any thing you can tell me. Any cheap hotels or lodging around the area?

Good grief did all my research on refresher course most people wanted to rob me. I just have to come up with the 600 dollars and look into lodging.

I would even be happy getting a local or regional job Nevada and California if offered.

Any info on school or lodging great. I just need a place to sleep nothing fancy thanks
