Hello,
I have a no start issue with the starter engaging and turning engine over, but not firing.
Mechanic advised to check all fuses, including the one near the ecm. As luck would have it, it was blown 10A.
I replaced it, but as soon as i hit starter it blows.
What would cause this to happen.
n14 keeps blowing fuse next to ecm

fuel, engine oil and anti-freeze are topped up.

Wouldn't have anything to do with fluid level. Sounds like you have a short in the starter, or in the starter switch that is blowing that fuse. From your post, I am led to believe that you don't know a whole lot about the mechanical function of your truck. You might want to contact a mechanic.

What a fluid level ore orther STUFF???? IT IS ECM GROUND FUSE.
It blows when you hit starter when THICK NEGATIVE WIRE to starter is broken.
This fuse is used to avoid high current throught grounding ciruits in ECM.
Keep changeing this fuse and you will get code 111 ore toasted inside ECM
Do not change this fuse till you fix starter wiring and starter will crank engine.
Check VERY THICK BLACK WIRE from battery box to starter, check all connections for corrosion. And when starter will crank engine, put new 10 a fuse. Do not use other fuses, you may easily damage ECM..
On Iveco trucks with Bosch MS6 units no ground fuse is used and I see so many toasted control units caused with bad negative wiring.blanco, 112racing and bullhaulerswife Thank this. -
Yes, what Pablo-UA said!

"i have a flat tire, check your fluids."
a car wrecked beyond repair
"it'll buff out"
i was just stating the very obvious.
as for my mechanical abilities, i have changed injectors on this engine as well as resealed the cam shaft followers. so, no i guess i dont know much. -
i am also noticing that my lcd display on the left hand does not light up or show any codes. it is dead, usually i get voltage info and mpg etc.
i had 2 extra 10a fuses. and know to not put any higher rated ones. i learned the hard way when i was younger.
ps. im typing in android fone so ignore caps/spelling etc. -
ok. ive checked everything i could and used a voltmeter to measure continuity on battery cables. everything was good.
can the starter be the culprit? wow. this has me stumped. i remember a month ago i turned key and no go. i tapped starter with hammer and cranked fine till now. this is on a starter that was installed rebuilt on 7/1/2010. -
sometimes those ground wires can look perfectely good--but when you peel back the insulation --it is greener than a pickel---frieghtliners are very bad for that--
bullhaulerswife Thanks this. -
You made me laugh. Thanks I needed that.
