My air govenor shuts the compressor down at 120psi and I would like to get that up to around 130-135psi and can't remember which way the adjustment screw needs to be turned to increase pressure.

I would imagine clockwise... its not hard to brake a few times to deplete your air to kick in the compressor to test the setting. Your better off to adjust a little bit at a time so not to blow something.

Turning the adjustment screw counter clockwise puts more load on the air governor spring and raises the cutout pressure setting. You may want to consider that raising the pressure setting can contribute to air leak problems.

governor ajustment depend on truck maker recomendations. On Mercedes it is 10 BAR, on MAN - on some trucks governor is ajusted to 12 BAR, but in air susopention tank, and 10 bar in brake tanks...
On US trucks - generally 135 ore 150 PSI. -
Turn it out to increase. Do it about a 1/4 turn at a time and test it.

My truck has always been at 120 psi. Is that not high enough? I thought thats what its supposed to be why 135?

On all new KW with the air drier mounted governor, they are pre set at 135 and are not adjustable.

When you need 110 psi to air up your tires and your air system maxes out at 115 or 120 psi, it goes really slow. At some point the pressure in your tanks will be less than, or even with the pressure of the tire you're airing up and it's not low enough to kick in the air governor. So you have to bleed off your air system until the governor kicks in and builds up pressure.
When you raise the pressure in the system, there's more air available above 110 psi, it's easier to adjust tire pressure. (And the pneumatic grease gun works better).
130 lbs works good for me.
