What brand of tires are you guys running in a 255 70R 22.5. And what air pressure do you run them at. Got some cheap china tires on my stepdeck this summer and noticed today one of the sidewalls has a split already. I run these at 110 psi.

From what I have seen, Hankook is good.
110 to 120 psi is what our company runs, and no, they don't buy Hankook, the last 2 new trailers they bought came equipped with them, and they lasted better than most.
Sometimes, you have to take what they got or what they bring you. -
I ran Yokohama tires on my step when I had it they wore really even and last good. As for the tire psi I would run 100 psi.

.....any recommendations for this size tire on the drives of a tractor?
For some reason the truck I was running today has these baby tires on it :\ -
Anyone run a kelly tire in that size for a trailer? I have kelly kda's on my drives and they are wearing really good.
-
Kelly Springfield is a good tire its the comes of the same line as a Goodyear, however, Goodyear has stopped making the brand completely a couple of years ago, so whats out there is old inventory
Oscar the KW Thanks this. -
Check BF Goodrich ST 230. Had those on a car trailer & never had a issue. Probably won' get quite the life out of them vs a Michelin, but when I checked prices it was around $100 each difference.
Also called half a dozen tire shops checking prices on these, big difference there too. Check with Bauer Bilt in the midwest, they were pretty competetive. -
How accurate is your speedometer and odometer? There are 2 22.5 low pro sizes used as drives and steers and therefore on trailers; 285/80R22.5, and 295/75R22.5.
They have the same circumference and load ratings. You might see either size substituted for the other. -
I run firestone fs560 on my stepdecks with 110psi have 60,000 miles on them still look good they run me about $375 a tire monted W/fet out the door
YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!!! -
As far as the OP, I run Bridgestone 250ed on my step. Great tire and we get them pretty cheap, so it makes it a winner in my book.
