for those using block heaters or oil pan heaters, I use a timer to turn current on. I time mine to come on approx 4 hours before I will start truck. it has worked great for me. pulls too much current to leave plugged in all the time. I know this option is only available if you have access to a 110 outlet, but something to consider.

I installed Artic Fox in tank fuel heaters. One has a thermostat the other does'nt. fuel never gets colder than 80 degrees. Then we plumbed in a coolant circulator designed for busses to circulate the coolant when the truck is plugged in. I leave the block heater plugged in all night but put the circulator on a timer. All I know about the circulator is that it is designed for busses. Artic Fox has a web site

I really like all the talk about fuel gelling. has anyone ever gone to a fuel station and not been able to get fuel? just one because if the fuel will gel in you tank it would in there's and it would not pump.
I have a little loader that has summer fuel in it and I added an antigen to that in the fall. I worked for a trucking company for a few years and never saw any anti gel additives in the place and they had a lot of trucks.
If you thing winter fuel is bad for power you would love arctic grade.
For those that miss the sulphur in fuel, so do I we use to do a lot more turbo failures, and burnt valves were common. We did at least one a week. The good times, For a special price I will send you some special Rocks from were I live, Rock Creek. they are special, limited time offer.
When you go by a natural gas plant that yellow stuff piled high or in trains that is sulphur. -
Do you honestly think that? You do know that if you put a water line or a fuel tank below the frost line it wont get below freezing. Truck stop tanks are underground fuel tanks on trucks are outside with lots of surface area exposed to the cold. If your tanks are full it takes along time to get the fuel in the tanks warmed up. I live/run in Pa. it does not get super cold for long here, yet I've had trouble with fuel gelling/waxing in my truck. And no I've never had trouble pumping it out of the inground tanks that are below the frost line.josh.c Thanks this. -

Don't bet on that, I know of several places in ND and SD including Minot of all places that sell straight #2 all winter and you're expected to blend it yourself with #1.
They don't label the pumps about it either.Opendeckin Thanks this. -
my uncle used to slip these over the fuel filter
