We were debating between the t700 and t680 right around the time 680 first starting debueing. We went with the t700 because we didnt want the paccar engine and couldnt wait for the ISX.. We were upset, however we are looking to get a 680 this summer with the ISX.
Its been awesome reading what everone had to say about it. We are very excited, and yes we do LOVE the 700 too... GO KW!

Wish i'd known this before but i'd call back dealer monday to have RR change at 3.55 as per cummins recomend. numbers for 1650tq....
As per their recom the RR gears are::::450hp/dual torque ....(.73)13 sp OD 22.5LP(512 RPM/TIRE)....55MPH/65MPH/ 68 RR IS 3.55====green OK
485-500HP......1650TQ.........SAME..................... ............................... RR 3.55 OK
485-500HP 1850 TQ BEST IS 3.42
SO?????? TOSKABG Was right 3.55 for my 1650tq..KEEP ENGINE INTENDED SPEED 1400-1600..Truck Speed open at 75mph
55mph is 1216RPM ....RECOMENDED 1200 60MPH 1327RPM
65 1437RPM........1400-1450 INTENDED SPEED
67 1482RPM
70 1491RPMkw600 Thanks this. -
Okay, I will check my rating. By the way, I was 80,000 gross weight the first time. It seems the 450hp is barely enough to speed up, even if I gear back to raise the rpm. I was expected more after the old Detroit. However I do not complain too much, since my fuel mileage still pretty good. I filled up the DEF for the first time, it is about 2.5%. Based on the price difference, it is comparable about 2% of fuel. Still not bad.
I got two new temporary fault code. Booth is related to DEF. Next time I will try a Cummins dealership.
My differential lock light did not go out today. I was trying for a half an hour, because I was afraid maybe the differential lock stayed engaged. Finally it went out, and since works fine. My head compartment vibrating against the roof. My trip meter "C" "average speed" meter is frozen between two numbers. Over 20psi turbo pressure (the max. is 25), the whole thing is vibrating. Under perfectly smooth. My clutch feels grinding when I touch the pedal. I have worn out two clutches, but I have never experienced this before. Can it be because of the self adjusting "Solo"? I think, I have to visit the KW dealership soon too. -
Hope KW can get you right !

Positive u'll get the adjustments done...they (KW) were technicaly proud of the new self adj clutch......
ONE MENTION TO KEEP IN MIND....Seems that if not updated already....The DEF Tank ...SENSOR...... for cummins ATS(AFTER TREATM,SYSTEM) had a reading problem ...sending empty tank readings to the computer wich was derating the truck down to 5mph.....friend had this on 2010 built 1st year DEF system truck(volvo) twice.. Just keep 1 gal DEF in the truck and pour it in the tank if anything related with no def readings, but knowing that , it is not true.....
note::this might be already updated....already for 2013 -
The engine suppose to be updated since it 2013. Also I was at the local Volvo dealership after the first two fault codes and they updated my updated brand new engine. Since there are two new fault codes.Last edited: Apr 21, 2013
