Looking at a different cab and sleeper for the Star. The newer cab is wired for a EGR DDEC4 while my truck is pre EGR DDEC4. I don't think that should be an issue.
How do you deal withe the VIN for the cab not matching the frame and title?
It seems like a pretty simple deal, am I missing something? Should I have the new cab painted off or on the truck?
Anybody do a cab swap?

I don't know why you are changing the cab but I know a guy that had an interior fire that destroyed the cab on a freightshaker. He bought a new cab all dressed (gauges lights mirrors everything) from FL for about $24,000. He gave them the serial number of the truck and they built an exact copy, bolt on, plug and play. I had priced one for a Star and it was a bit more but these are Canadian prices so you could likely knock $5000 off. Might be worth a call to WS, save some hassle and get brand new. Just a thought.

i would think that if you can put a different engine in a truck than what it came with using a adapter harness you should be able to do the same for a cab that came with a different engine
