I am not a mechanic not claiming to be one, so remember this when I ask this question. I am looking at buying the Spinner II system for my truck. From what I have read up on these the Spinner II is the least time consuming and cost effective as far as the time it takes to change the filters out and everything else involved in this.
I am looking for advice and suggestions on this as I will be buying a system in the very near future.
Again remember I am not a mechanic and not stating facts about the Spinner II being better or worse, just looking at if they really are all pretty much the same?
Advice and suggestions are greatly appreciated.
Spinner II vs other extended oil systems?

Not sure about least time consuming. The FS2500 kit is about as simple as it gets for an install, and the filter is easy to deal with. So, I think on install, the FS2500 would beat the Spinner II, but I would have to agree than the Spinner II might edge out the FS2500 on a filter change, and maybe a little cleaner of a deal. But as for effectiveness, they all have good qualities. The Spinner II is a very solid performer. Even though I run the FS2500, I would have no problem putting a Spinner II on. I have even thought that on my next truck, if I ever get another one, I might go with the Spinner II.

I'm wondering how much the service kits cost for the Spinner II.

THANKS Cowpie 1, I appreciate the info. Captain Canuck, I was wondering the same thing about the cost of the service kit?

Are these cost effective tho? I understand the concept in filtering to a finer level. Will it really prolong engine life as opposed to just changing the oil every 10,000 religiously? My oil is still pretty darn clean at 10,000 miles. I just want to know if these are really worth the $$$ when you're changing those filters every 10,000 miles anyway and adding a gallon or 2 or 4 depending on which one as opposed to just changing the oil and stock filter every 10,000 miles.

Cost of 9-10 gallons of oil + both high flow filters every 10k miles= ?? Varies
Versus
Cost of one bypass filter + oil top off + sample every 10-20k miles+ one time fee of $600 - $1000 = ?? Varies
When I ran my numbers it payed for itself pretty quick and offered additional engine protection.RTR Thanks this. -
The FS2500 is filtering out damage sized particulate, that run right through the high flow filters. Call the guys at spinner or filtration solutions. I was already sold because me buddy has been running one for years.
RTR Thanks this. -
Not saying they dont work, or do work, just making a point.
I just change the oil every 10k myself. Always have, always will. A Pm isnt just an oil change, and if I'm under there anyways.......
Oil from Walmart etc, filters from the dealer (oil AND fuel), under $200.

If it was my business to sell oil, I'd tell my customers to needlessly change it of course. But when you look deeper, the science is there to support extended change intervals.leftlanetruckin, daf105paccar and RTR Thank this. -
I had one on my last truck. It wasn't worth it because it ate oil after 8k miles and kept eating it till it was all changed.
