Blow by is created by combustion gases passing thru the piston rings/valve guides into the crankcase, if it's excessive it's time for a rebuild!
-
wore out needs rebuilt
-
its when i idle it does it a little. Just had 4 injectors put in. It runs great got lots of powering going up hills 78 to 79 thousand lb do 45 to 50 when i get a good running start you know
-
some blow by is normal my truck smokes alittle out the blowby i change the oil and its gone for awile
-
My truck has blow by, but does not use any oil, having blow by, doesn't necessarily mean it's time for an overhaul
-
The question is how much and how often are you adding oil?
-
If your truck has the Acert engine which I am assuming it does, it will have blowby. It is caused by oil mist from the vva's. Mine smokes like a freight train while it is at a idle. I maybe burn a gallon of oil between oil changes.
punksmacker Thanks this. -
