Hello, I am looking at purchasing a truck and have a question. The truck I am looking at has a 465 cummins ISX motor with a thirteen speed tranny and 3.70 rears. I am familiar with the tranny and gear ratio that this truck has I am how ever not familiar with the motor. Most of my experience is with a Cat, Detroit, Or VED(Volvo) engine. So with that being said I am wondering is that motor is any good or what do I need to look for? And as I said before any help will be greatly appreciated!

All kinds of motors can be good, all kinds of motors can be bad. Have it dyno'd, oil analyzed, go from there. Personally , I prefer Cummins. They have put a lot of food on my table over the years.
    Others might tell you different.
