Hey guys, I had a new EGR valve installed on my Detroit last week. Can't tell much difference in the way in runs, but my fuel mileage has dropped off quit a bit. Could this be from the new EGR, or possibly something else? Thanks in advance!
New EGR, poor MPG

if its 14 L engine I suggest you to go to Detroit(not freightliner ) dealer. Ask them to adjust the turbo. there is a connection between egr valve opening and turbo's vans response.
strato Thanks this. -
Thanks mhyn. I haven't heard that before, but it does make sense. Does Freightliner not know what they are doing when it comes to this procedure?
