The ISX manual says it doesn't need to be done til 500K, but then you may be out of warranty if there are cam wear problems. Had mine done at 400K and saw a significant improvement in fuel mileage.

I just had my overhead reran after MCH Kenworth in Dallas ###### it up after they replaced a Cat break. Took it to my Cat shop in Louisville and it runs like a champ again.
Overhead's need to be ran every 250000 miles on C15's.
The price to get mine done was $365.00 Dyno run $190.00 just to make sure it was running right and to see what Mr. Haney's Stage1 tune did............676hp to the wheels. -
Anyone knows of the good Cummins shop around NJ, DE, PA area. I live in South NJ and my local shop
Screwed up my ecu, 2nd local shop charges $700-$875 for doing an overhead, 3rd
Shop is the ghetto - filthy, dirty: could pass for the junk yard or the
Strip shop.
I really would like to find the shop/guy who knows what he/they are doing - besides
Taking my money ( I can take my own money pretty good too ).
Thank you. -
i know you live in jersey, but look at pittsburg power. i'm not saying they are king, but i think they should seriously be looked at.

Thanks. -
Just had Cummins Bridgeway in Dearborn run the overhead on my ISX.
Running a LOT smoother now, noticed a BIG jump in fuel economy (Averaged high 5's for two weeks straight before the overhead, now getting 7.7 on this trip. Only other work done was a PM)
On the ISX, an overhead consists of setting valve lash on intake & exhaust valves, adjusting jakes, and checking torque on injectors.
All I can figure is that it must have been WAAAYYY out of spec to show this big a difference. Cost about $350 for the overhead, and I spent another $110 on top of that for a new valve cover gasket. they're supposed to be reusable, but I had no idea how many times this one had been torqued & retorqued, so I called it cheap insurance.
