Im new on here and from California, my question is I have a 94 379 pete 3406E 435hp "5EK01758" 13 over 3.70 rears . The motor has bout 160,000 miles since inframe and runs great, 7 mpg average. I cruise it around 1350 1400 and on a pull bout 1600. I've been told to kick it up bout 1900 to 2100rpms. The valves have single spring and im worried to much rpm will hurt them. Anyways, aren't Cat's suppose to run all low rpms ? As any owner operator, I WANT MORE POWER !!! and I know when to use it also. I have read most of the threads on here and see all the options. I just need to find a shop in So. Cal., that can get into the ecm's password to do any changes. The last time I had the overhead run the shop was trying to upgraded to a 450 but couldn't get the password. But I want to find a shop that will tweek it out to it's all potential, after driving for 30 years, I do drive with one eye on the gauges RELIGIOUSLY. I have a small wallet lately and can't afford any major expenses. But for MORE POWER, I could spare a few dollars. Your Feed back would be greatly appreciated.

I'm not too familiar with E models Cats I was wondering if anyone could help me out. If a guy had a '99 Pete and wanted to go from 475 to 550 hp with a 3406E (5EK) would he need certain injectors put in? Or would he be alright just going thru the ECM?

Should be able to do it with just a reflash. My 2000 was a 2ws and didnt need any hard parts changed.
