I have a 1999 volvo with the d12, it started to lose power along the way but now it has a real hard miss. It feels like it's starving for fuel, I changed the filter (no change) some one said the egr is bad ,someone else said it was pre egr. The (check engine at next stop) post is on so I don't know if that would come on for an injector. Any one been there and done that?

A '99 should be pre EGR.

'99 is pre EGR, it is D12C Euro-II engine... yep, calibrations like in EU engine, I sugest 420 HP.
There are three things make Volvo loose power.
1. Bad injectors. How to test? if you have no VCADs pro software, you cant check cylinder ballance, but you can use instrumental cluster to get l/hour fuel consumption at idle. With park brake released (no EPG is applied, becouse when you apply park brake ECM applies EPG to warm engine up and save heat) and compressor disabled (pressure is fully built) must be 1.5-2.0 l/hour, if more - injectors inject less fuel you need, from 3 ore more l/hour engine starts with ether only.
2. Boost pressure leak - volvo do not use crankcase vent to inlet so no oil in point of leak, so use pressure test.
3. Worn engine, bad compression... yeah, you need VCADs pro to check... toasted valves is a problem of Volvo engines.. and no noise, no oil consumprtion.123456 and hard times Thank this. -
I don't know if it's an EU, I haven't had it long. It was running pretty good but never had the power I thought it should. Last night it started missing really bad I thought it was a filter so I changed it but it made no change, still missing. Going to look for a second filter but didn't see one last night the way it started all the sudden I'm just not sure.

about your miss, did you get low fuel delivery pressure codes? check MID 128 (Engine ECM) for stored codes
-
I will look again but I think I did, if so what does that mean?
-
you will know is it low fuel pressure issue ore something else
hard times Thanks this. -
Yes I have that code , here is what I have (mid 128 pdi 105 fmi 4) ( mid 128 pid 172 pdi 3) (mid 128 pdi 100 fmi 4) ( 128=175=3) (128=107=5) (mid 128 sid 005 fmi7) (mid 128 sid 231 fmi 12) ( mid 128 sid 021 fmi 3 ) (mid 128 sid 022 fmi 3 ) ( mid 128 sid 004 fmi 3 ) ( 128 sid 004 fmi 5 ) if you know what these mean I could sure use the help.

MID 128 PID 105 Intake Manifold Temperature - limited power, less MPG, miss
PID 172 Air Inlet Temperature - wrong reading
PID 100 Engine Oil Pressure
SID 231 SAE J1939 Data Link
SID 021/022 - EPS (engine pos sensor)
SID 004 - cyl #4 missfire

Use this guide
as you can see, no EGR codeshard times and xiipercent Thank this.
