If you going off the miles on the dash make sure it's not counting to many or to little. Double check to make sure it calibrated. Look at the map and count miles the old way from start point to end point to compare to dash miles.

New drive tires are taller then old wore down drive tires with 2/32 tire tread left. You can see the difference in your rpm and speed from new to old tires.

    Now I don't feel too bad. :biggrin_25523:

Getting about 5-5.25 mpg with a 2011 International Prostar, 500 ISX, 18 spd, 4:10, 11R24.5 half at 125,000-130,000 lbs and half at 45,000 lbs. I run at about 1325 rpm which is equal to 90 km/h, both ways. I'd like to get a consistant 5.5 mpg and would be ecstatic if I could get close to 6. The truck is getting better though, it currently has about 138,000 km and I have only had it for about three weeks (it had about 130,000 km when I started) and it was getting less than 5 mpg, so we shall see.

Yes but your always running down hill with a tailwind. If you would get out here in the real world you might not get those numbers.:smt064

Down hills both way. I gotta find these runs he does. Lol. Sure would be nice to always have a tail wind.

I don't get better than 6.2 don't get worse than 5.3 doing a 4700 mile trip grossing almost 80k both ways. Doing the speed limit and a little above at times.

3406e 2sw motor with a pdi stage 1 tune. Hasn't been on dyne but estimated at 725hp. Have to see what the dyno says next time I go threw St George.

    Hi,

I recently talked with Cris with Microblue. I would like to have differentials done as soon as I get my 85 Pete back on the road and get a good base line. I got 6.25 with the BCIII 400 with mods before setting her up for a few years. I almost have the engine ready to put back in.

Looks like there is a big advantage to this process.

How many miles you think you'll have on the rear ends when you'll take them out on 9/21 dice?

What are gonna be the enhancements in the new rear ends?

MicroBlue built these rear ends in house like a race car one would be built where the first ones that had MicroBlue treated parts assembled by a reman shop that built my rear ones and one other truck on the road rear too tight that appears to be the normal to get it out the door and not take another 5 or 10 minutes using shims to get the correct play in the bearings and gears.

Results hopefully next Monday after a full dedicated run.

I hopefully will be able to feel the difference in rolling like the wheel bearings have shown with me about 20+ others who have them installed.

Right now Microblue is holding off doing anymore truck rear ends till testing is done with mine to insure quality control will be done on the assembly of Microblue treated parts.

Back when I had my 2004 W900L I had some very good numbers from it. I did a trip from Saskatoon, SK, Canada to Tipton, California, and I averaged 10.6 MPG (Canadian numbers) for the entire trip. I was pulling a 48ft tandem step deck, maintained by me, but the companies trailer. I had 10,000 pounds on, just 4 skids.

I ran I-15 from the US/CANADA border all the way down to Barstow, took 58, then 99 north from there.

I had 3:70 rear ends, 13 speed, stayed at exactly 100 KM/H (62MPH) for the entire trip.

It was summer time so obviously that helped a bit, and I didn't see to much wind at all except for the little corner of Arizona which is normal.

That truck was actually very good on fuel. There was a few times I obtained 7 MPG pulling a John Deere combine at 55 MPH, can't complain about 7 MPG with a elephant on your back.

I don't get 9, 10 or 11, I started with 3.9mpg 04 MBN grossing anywhere from 78 - 81 thousand almost all miles pulling cars. Wind resistance is my biggest problem 04 Pete 10 car 3:55 rears.

    My upgrades:
    ECM tune from Mr. Honey
    Replaced exhaust Donaldson off road
New rubber on drives and steer at 110Psi
    Fuel harness mod
    PDI Turbo
    Turbo boot and wrap
    Syntetic in all box's

My speed is usually 65-67 unless legal is 55 then I'll keep at 60.

With this setup I was able to gain good 1.2 Mpg running Midwest - Northwest, hills no hills.

I just installed a Fuel Preperator 2 and GCF Baypass.
Hope to gain something out of it, but I'm not believer until I see for my self, truck running better now.

    Wish I could do 6!
