It's at the truck mart on I-81S near the MD/PA state line. Cat 3406B, newly rebuilt super-10 and new clutch. 1.9m on the truck, 900k on the engine, one owner. They're asking $8K. Wish I was in a position to snag that one.
Found a 1995 Marmon with 102" sleeper for sale

why? just curious. gonna need tranny, motor, rear ends....ect, ect, ect

Yes, the rears and engine will need to be overhauled, transmission and clutch have less than 100 miles on overhaul, and the interior needs a little help, to say the least.
Rather than spend $40-50k on something new-ish that may or may not have hidden problems, picking this up and getting the work done would cost about the same. Knowing that everything has a fresh rebuild for about the same cash would be a good thing in my opinion. And it's unique looking. Fuel economy would be the question though, not sure what those Cats are capable of.
Oh well, just dreaming. -
you can get good milage out of the B modle cats if you run it like a normal person
-
Antrim Diesel in greencastle just down the road from them could give you about 800 or more horsepower out of that engine pretty easy
-
with you only driving a year or less most likely you would melt an engine with that kind of power in about first 50 miles, but you could have fun while it lasted
-
would love to get some info on this truck, is it green by any chance?
was it forward axle or set back axle? -
I had a stock 3406B jacket water aftercooled engine in a 1987 ford LTL9000 400 horse and that thing would spin the drive tires when running in the rain on those two mountains between Hagerstown and Frederick If I let the RPM drop down to 1200it would actually out pull some of the 4 and a quarter engines
