Here are the sensor locations for the 871 series ISX, (DPF equipped). Lots of members ask for this information, maybe it could be a sticky thread.

Most of the sensor connectors have these stupid stupid stupid secondary locks that are a totally PITA to unlock. There is a red lock that must be slid sideways to be able to push down on the main lock. The red lock that slides sideways has a little catch that must be pushed over as you push out the red lock. Hard to describe.

I see what your saying... So slide the red one off sideways first...then press down the main lock... Yeah I've been seeing those notches all day on the sideways sliding part, and been giving me all sorts of trouble... So after I manage to do all that, get in there with a toothbrush and clean it up like rawze was mentioning...

I knew it wouldn't be long before someone asked about this. I made one for the 870 too, should be up now!

Any time you have a connector apart you need to smear some dielectric grease inside to help seal it from moisture and terminal fretting.
This is what I use. Works great, also works to keep the connectors from getting stuck to each other so they come apart nice the next time.

i'm guessing the stupid locks would be for all the vibration a truck endures on the road.

i'm replacing the top radiator hose when my truck gets out of the shop. the clamps were loose. i tightened them down and it still has a slight leak. shop says they usually don't tighten back down and hold after the first time loosens up.

    thanks for the schematic, heavy!!!!.

now if you can point us to the way of some cheap diagnostic software for our laptops. :biggrin_25525:
