A good local shop should be able to rebuild that rad. They can upgrade the cores as well to give more cooling. For a cac I recommend duralite and duralite only. 7 year million mile warranty. Can't recommend a damper.

My local DURALITE dealer also can order Radiators as well. I got a Duralite Radiator for $700 shipped for my Century, what a nice RAD. It has metal tanks and is BRASS all the way through. I would recommend DURALITE all the way around, even the charge air cooler. As far as the damper I would go with a Vibratech, which I ordered through Pittsburgh Power. Hope this helps.

Stay away from General Radiator /National Porges in Chicago. They advertise in a lot of trucking magazines but you won`t be happy unless you wanted to get screwed in the first place.

any info on detroit radiator? there is one within 10 miles from me. I like to deal with a walk in place then a ship it from another state, in case something is defective.

I believe I just got screwed by Detroit Radiator in Michigan. I paid for a POWERMAX cac and what I received was a piece of #### from China. No DRC markings or nothing. Definitely not what I wanted. Called and told them had I known, I would have purchased a Durlite, made in the USA. I am down long enough, so don't have time to send it back and order a Duralite. So others be forewarned, you will not get an American made product. To me, this is absolute BS of the highest order.

I recently saw a few negative posts about Detroit radiator for different reasons and was enough for me to consider another brand. Is Duralite the way to go now and can they handle high horsepower engines

Pdi makes some great radiators and CAC, especially for super b weights its a good choice. Probably a little more $$$$$...... If not, duralite and never look back.
You gotta watch the advice gotten on here. What works for guys hauling toilet paper wont do squat for a guy hauling 140k. Like the age old argument on weather extra HP will save fuel or not, maybe hauling doritos it won't but when you have that much weight, not slowing down to drop gears will save fuel and get you to your destination quicker.
Case and point, up here in Canada. A guy a work with has 2 twin trucks, one got a pdi tune. Both 140,000. One 550 cat, one 800 cat. 800 cat was cruising at 60mph while the other was at 65mph. The 800 got to his destination an hour earlier and burned a lot less fuel because the rolling hills didn't even phase him.
I say all of this because it will be worth the initial investment to have it breathe and cool better.EverLuc Thanks this. -
I thought Dura-light was made in Canada, not in the US.
