gear box fell out

    on one of my freightliners the gear box clutch housing broke into pieces and fell in the road today causing the drive shaft to beak as well. what causes a clutch housing to break apart?

    Maybe the harmonic balancer is shot and the flywheel bolts snapped off. Had to be vibrating pretty bad before all that happened.

    Usually loose bolts and then 1/2 of them fall out over stressing the housing.

    Try to look over trucks when they come home,small cracks turn to traneys on the road after time?

    Hardcore usage!! I call this type of drivers stomachs cause everything you give them they turn it into crap!!

    More like , how does it get to be soooo bad the gearbox falls on the ground, is the real question. Get another driver and fire the mechanic. That's ridiculous.

    Thanks guys come to find out it was the pressure plate that exploded and caused the damage.
