Ok so I don't know if anyone will be able to help me here but it's worth a shot. Yesterday my MIL, check engine light, and stop engine light came on in my 2008 FL Cascadia, 60 series ( company truck). As soon as you pull it out of gear to down shift and get off the road it shuts down. It has happened once before and our shop mechanic told me to pin the ovrd shut down switch so I could get it back to the shop as it had seemed the truck wasn't sure what was wrong and I didn't see anything to lead me to believe there was. Gauges were all fine, all of my fluid levels were fine, and it was running just fine. So I did that and made it about 450 miles back to our shop. He messed with the wiring a little bit and we thought the problem had been solved. Over a month later (yesterday) the lights came back on with all of the same symptoms. So I pinned the ovrd and got it back to the shop so he could look at it. I forgot to mention that there were no faults th first time... Although this time there was a fault code and when he pluggged in the truck to the computer it told him that there is a fault but it doesn't know what from. He said had never seen that before. So he forced a regen on the truck and I was back on the road. A couple of hours later the lights came back on and I knew something was up with this POS but I have wasted so much time on it that I pinned the ovrd and kept going to my drop. I stopped for fuel shortly after and took my 30 min break. when I headed out again only the MIL light was on and it stayed that way for the next 3 hours before you guessed it, the lights came back on. So I pinned the ovrd again and kept going. I stopped about an hour later to let the truck take a break and see if when I continued the lights would go out. When I moved out the lights came back on and you know the rest. Then the emmisions light came on. Which isn't uncommon because usually it goes out shortly after, but this time it stayed on and started blinking, so I pulled off of the road to do a parked regen. I sat for over an hour letting it do its thing and I was worried because I have read it usually doesn't take more than hour so I cancelled it and kept going seeing as I was low on time and had an appointment to make in the morning so I said f it, it had to have done something right? I drove another 2 hours with the emmisions light blinking and all of the lights on with hardly any loss of power. On my 10 hour break I tried to do another parked regen to let it do its thing without the time stress looming over my head. Only after about 15 min the rpms started dropping and the engine shut down. Does anyone have any clue why this might be happening? It might be a sensor, or maybe the DPF needs to be changed? Can I make it another 600 mi back home? It's the strangest thing I have encountered with a truck. And I have been in some POS before. Seemingly ok to drive yet all of the warnings and non sense. Any Knowledge is appreciated. Thanks

You may ask your shop if they have ever taken the DPF off and had it "baked" if they look at you confused then take that as a no and make the suggestion that the truck go to a Detroit shop so they can do it..

Ok... I am having a different problem with the emission system which is puzzling me and any info or experience is welcome.
The truck is a Freightliner Cascadia, 2012, DD15
Last Nov. while driving up and down mountains in CA, engine lights came on, flashing red and all... Freightliner went thru a list of troubleshooting and replaced SCR box, DPF filters (they were all clogged up), all sensors, delta sensor, etc, etc. Truck was at their shop for 3 weeks. :biggrin_2552:
This truck never asked me to do a regeneration.
Last few days ago, while going up steep hills on CA-58, same noise from SCR box again, lost power, engine lights on... :biggrin_2552: Tried to do park reg, nothing happened... didn't work.
Now truck is at the Freightliner shop and they are going thru the same list of troubleshooting again...

They can't tell me what is causing this to happen... If anyone here has any info on this, I would appreciate your comment. :biggrin_25519:
