well ive been running my new to me truck for about three weeks now, and have noticed a couple of issues.

1] after getting off and back on the throttle, the turbo will spool up to 25 psi [normal] then after a 30 sec it will surge to 30 psi and drop right back down to 25 psi.

2] when pulling a hill, i will pull the engine down to about 1400 before i shift, but from 1600 to 1400 the turbo surges up and down 5 psi during the pull.

3] when cruising the engine sounds fine [smooth] when idling it is real rough, and when i stater to pull or bring the engine over 1600 rpm loaded or not the engine has a growl and runs not so smooth.

    any thoughts, thanks trevor

mbn aren't the best engines. But I heard about converting into a 6nz engine.

If I'm not mistaken cat motors sweet spots are about 1100-14/1450 tops isn't it? Seems like you may be beating the piss out of it in that aspect. But then again, I've only had a c15 acert.

I don't have i-shift/auto under my t600. Not concerned about it yet. not the fan of autos. Would rather play with manual.

Mbn engines have a module that controls the wastegate. A lot of guys have the wastegate blocked off on those engines. Try that, if the boost is more stable and it's not overboosting I'd run it. I replaced a 2ws with an mbn in my truck and found the mbn was torquier at really low rpm but about 1500 just died compared to the 2ws. I run mine around 1450 rpm and get reasonable fuel mileage

i can not pull the motor below 1350, the turbo starts fluttering.

russ, the trans is a 13spd, not an auto shift

On hills I'd never pull below 1100-1150 cause it just chugs too much. 1450 is about as high as I'd go cause any higher and it just seemed not to pull as hard. I don't think I could get myself to drive an auto...unless the money was too good to turn down. If I want an automatic, I'll switch cars.

No nothing was done to power settings in computer. Had the dealer pull the files of the few times it was in and nothing was changed. The truck sat in hiding in a garage for last 6yrs
