can anyone help fixing this issue or advising how to :
    here is the issue :
while driving at the city at 30-40 mph at 1300-1400rpm truck loosing power , after 2 seconds pushing gas pedal truck drives fine and some white smoke comes out from exhaust … sometimes same thing happening while driving uphill .
2000 peterbilt with detroit 12.7 engine , complete overhaul been done 3 month ago at freight liner dealer
i had same issue before overhaul , but it was happening 1-2 times a week , considering that we drive 2000-2200 miles a week , after over haul nothing changed , but last 2 month its worse and worse … now its happening all the time in the city driving , truck was at the dealer for whole week , dealer reprogrammed ecu - nothing happened , now truck back to the dealer … 4 days already …. i don't think they will fix it …its detroit dealer , peterbilt said : we don't service detroit
    thank you

Losing prime probably, maybe a collapsed fuel line? OR, electrical fault?

Sounds like a wiring harness or sensor issue. Air intake temp sensor's can cause some similar issues. There was a factory fix with a resistor. On the petes the short wire that goes to the tps commonly goes bad.

If it has a egr, chances are that is it. White smoke is a sign of a turbo problem or a leak the in air to air system. check everything from air cleaner to the air to air, and to the turbo is tight and no cracks in rubber lines. pick up a cheap fog machine and do a smoke test to see if there any leaks.

2000 shouldn't have a egr unless someone dropped in a newer motor at some point.
