I have a couple of questions about replacing the A/C high pressure switch.
1) to replace it will the system have to be evacuated?
2) do I need to use Thread sealer, such as Teflon on the threads of the switch?

The port has a Schrader valve so there is no system leakage just what is in the switch. You just unscrew the switch.
you do not use a sealer, you do want to put a little Pag or ester oil on the "O" ring when you screw on the new switch.
Just a thoughtHopeOverMope, Raiderfanatic and silver dollar Thank this. -
the appropriate oil on the o ring that goes inside the screw in portion of the switch. and screw her on. ez pz.
make sure to check the schrader valve though. if you see any oil inside there when you unscrew the old switch. means that valve is leaking. then your going to have to evacuate, replace the valve. evacuate system into a vacuum state. (recommended for best results). and recharge with fresh freon.
or r134a refridgerant if your one of them nit picky people who wants the exact terminology.silver dollar Thanks this. -
