I don't think so. I know the HID seems to be outrageous still as well. Maybe someone else could shed some light.

You can buy the old school style 7"round and put the j.w. speaker led in there for around 1500.

The problem with hid is there is no room for the ballast behind the bulbs, you need a slim ballast and slim ballast means cheap garbage Chinese hid kit that will burn out and cause problems.

If you buy a hud kit go to theretrofitsource.com and buy there. Best quality, 6000k is for riced up Honda civics that don't need to see far down the road. 4300k is where it's at for light output. I am about to tackle mine in a week and am looking into mounting options.

Whatever you do don't buy the plug in led bulbs with the fans on them. Most of them hit the back headlight cover and block the fan thus overheating as well they are complete garbage.

dustinbrock, Do you have j. w. speakers? If so how are they in the winter, as far as freezing over with snow?

I do not have them but I just so happened to be unloading next to 3 trucks with them and they all said you have to constantly clean them, that's the one downfall.

Against my better judement, I am going with a slim ballast hid kit. My friend sells them and promises me they last....... I call b.s. but am willing to try.

    mtoo Thanks this.

My boss and I were just talking about LED/HID headlights the other day, supposedly, trucklite will have HID retrofits and LED retrofits available for all trucks by the end of 2015, they are slowly rolling them out, it's a development process.
