Saw a comment in a thread several days or maybe weeks ago where someone told a driver when he put that new radiator in be sure to ground it. I should have asked in the thread but didn't and don't know where it's at. Mine's grounded but this got me to wondering, why? What exactly does grounding the radiator do?

There are small electric currents than can be generated by coolant flowing through copper tubes inside a rad. This small current can cause an electro-chemical reaction called electrolysis. This causes internal corrosion and rotting of the tubes that basically eats away, plugs and destroys a rad from the inside-out. A grounding wire allows these generated currents to drain immediately and cause little to no effect.

Bruce from pp was on radio a few years back .. He mentioned the above also stated that it's a good idea to add a extra ground to frame and motor it can prevent most electrical problems and liner pitting from electrolysis as well where they come in contact with antifreeze made sense to me
